Here to listen. Ready to help.

Guernsey Bereavement Service is a voluntary, confidential service available for every adult in the Bailiwick of Guernsey, experiencing any type of loss.

We will all at some point in our lives experience loss, whether this is a bereavement, relationship, pet, career, or role, or any other type of loss we may experience. It is never easy to suffer a loss. There are no words to adequately describe the overwhelming sense of pain you may feel when you suffer a loss.

Guernsey Bereavement Services can help support you on your Journey through loss and grief.

We can support people experiencing grief through loss regardless of the circumstances or how long ago it occurred.

Guernsey Bereavement Services provides one-to-one support through our trained volunteer listeners and counsellors.

From time-to-time we run support groups, which are an opportunity to share experiences and support others in a similar situation.

Please see below for the dates of our support groups and those we work with, and also future support groups.

To continue with our valuable work, we are always looking to expand our team of listeners, counsellors, and volunteers to ensure that we can meet the demands of our clients.

If you would like to start your counselling pathway, or you are trained listener or counsellor. We would be pleased to have a chat with you. Similarly, we need volunteers to help us with our fundraising so that we can continue to serve our community. If you have some spare time to help us with flag days, fete days, or any other fund raising opportunities, please contact Manager@gbs.org.gg.

“Grief is the unwelcome journey, the worst kind of loss is yours.”

— Dr Bill Webster

We are reliant on the generosity of kind donations and those who can give their time to be able to support the Bailiwick of Guernsey Community
