Celebration of Training Awards
The Certificate course is the mandatory training for GBS volunteers and was designed to meet the busy lives of islanders by offering a combined learning package of distance learning and face-to-face training. The course was offered to a wide variety of students and some will be volunteering for the Charity.
The diploma in counselling course gives volunteers the opportunity to enhance their skills and study general counselling. It is a two-year, level five accredited course entailing approximately 500 hours of study, both formal and informal. The training represents a considerable investment on the part of the individuals and, thanks to on-island donations, the Guernsey Bereavement Service has also been able to provide some financial support for our volunteers.
The Guernsey Bereavement Service has occupied Kingsland House since 2007. We are fortunate to be able to use these premises and are happy to make the facilities available to others. If you are interested please take a look at the "room hire info leaflet" which can be downloaded at the foot of the page. Alternatively contact us on 257778 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Spring 2018 has seen a number of successes in our training courses. In April we awarded the Certificate in Counselling (with bereavement and loss awareness) to 15 successful students.
On May 12th, in the presence of the Bailiff, eleven volunteers received the diploma in counselling.
